Cyprium Partners has named John Ward to its advisory council. Ward is a managing partner at Unit Economic Investors and Unit Economic Advisors.

Cyprium Partners, a private equity firm that makes non-control investments in privately held companies, has added John Ward to its Advisory Council. Mr. Ward, a professional private equity investor and private company board director for nearly eighteen years, will focus on technology and technology-enabled business services companies for Cyprium.
Mr. Ward has made successful investments across a range of industries including Telecommunications, Data Centers, Hosting/Managed IT Services, Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”), Cloud Based Technologies, Security Services, and Energy Services. The common thread among these projects has been a services based recurring revenue model or a unique economic advantage enabled by the application of information technology. His functional expertise is in the areas of business model optimization; go-to-market strategies; executive team recruitment and development; and mergers and acquisitions integration.
Mr. Ward has sat on numerous private company boards of directors, including Xactly Corporation; Fusepoint Managed Services (acquired by Savvis); Specialty Security Strategies; Attenda, Ltd.; NuVox Communications (acquired by Windstream); and Fusion Media Group.
Mr. Ward is the Managing Partner of Unit Economic Investors of Boston and Jacksonville, FL and Unit Economic Advisors in Jacksonville, FL. In his early career, following five years of service as an officer with United States Naval Intelligence, Mr. Ward worked for Fidelity Investments as a sales representative and then began his tenure as a venture investor in 1996 at BancBoston Capital. He went on to become a General Partner at M/C Venture Partners (now M/C Partners) and then a Managing Director at Key Venture Partners, both in the Boston area.
Mr. Ward has a B.A. from Middlebury College; an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College; and an M.P.A. from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
