Daniel Galante Joins A&M

Daniel Galante has joined Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group as a managing director and national practice leader. He previously was a senior managing director of FTI Consulting.

Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group, which works with private equity firms, hedge funds and corporate acquirers and is an affiliate of the leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), announced that Daniel L. Galante has joined as a managing director and national practice leader. Formerly a senior managing director of FTI Consulting and a partner with the transaction advisory services practice of Ernst & Young, he is based in A&M’s Chicago office.

Mr. Galante will lead the group along with managing directors and national practice leaders Nick Alvarez, Jack McCarthy and Paul Aversano, all based in New York, and Kent Willetts, also based in Chicago. With nearly 20 years of business experience, Mr. Galante has developed extensive transaction experience serving as an adviser to companies in the U.S. and Europe over the past 14 years. He has been involved with more than 350 buy- or sell-side transactions for a multitude of private equity investors, hedge funds, lenders and strategic corporate acquirers. Mr. Galante has also advised on many different types of transactions, including standalone platform investments; carve-outs of business segments; bankruptcy auction processes; and mergers and industry consolidations. 

“Dan has a proven track record advising on middle-market transactions involving companies ranging from start-ups to more than $1 billion in revenues, across a wide range of industries,” said Mr. Alvarez. “As we continue to broaden our transaction and other interdisciplinary, performance improvement capabilities, his leadership and experience will be invaluable.”

Mr. Galante is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, and received both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accountancy from DePaul University in Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He is an active volunteer and school board member with Mount Carmel Academy, an elementary and middle school on Chicago‘s Near North Side and is involved with BUILD, an organization assisting at-risk youths to realize their potential.
