Dawn Hudson Joins Parthenon Group

Dawn Hudson has joined strategic advisory The Parthenon Group, as vice chair. She previously was president and CEO of Pepsi Cola, North America. At Parthenon, she will focus on the consumer, retail and sports management sectors.

The Parthenon Group today announced that Dawn Hudson has joined the firm as Vice Chair. Hudson, the former Pepsi-Cola President & CEO, North America, will contribute to all of the firm’s practice areas with a particular focus on to the consumer, retail and sports management offerings.

Named to Fortune’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” list and Forbes “100 Most Powerful Global Women” list, Hudson led PepsiCo’s $6 billion North American beverage business from 2002 – 2007, first as President and later as President and CEO. She was responsible for all aspects of the company’s general management and is widely recognized for expanding the business by significantly accelerating investment in non-carbonated beverages as the soft-drink beverage market flattened.

 

In particular, she led the acquisition of Izzy Sparkling Juice Company, and created #1 Lipton Green Tea franchise, Sierra Mist lemon-lime trademark, and Amp energy drink, all while continuing to build 16 trademarks including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Aquafina and Starbucks Frappucino.

Prior to being named North American President and CEO, Hudson lead PepsiCo’s Foodservice Unit, and also served as Chief Marketing Officer for the company’s North American division, where she won numerous Effie’s for her Pepsi.com work.

 

Prior to PepsiCo, Hudson was the Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for Frito-Lay International, where she led advertising and global promotions efforts across 43 countries on all continents. She is widely credited for the consolidation of 40 local potato chip brands into one global “Lays” brand and the successful launch of Doritos.

 

Inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame for people under 40, Hudson also worked for a number of leading advertising agencies, including D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, where she was the first female managing director.

 

Active in non-profit and charitable activities, Hudson is Chair of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), and the American Beverage Association. She is also a member of the board of two publicly traded companies, Lowes Companies and Allergan, Inc. Hudson graduated from Dartmouth College in 1979.
