DLA Piper taps PE lawyer Legault as a partner

Law firm DLA Piper has hired private equity lawyer Jeff Legault as a partner for its corporate practice in New York. Previously, Legault worked at Mayer Brown where he was a partner.


NEW YORK (February 22, 2017) – DLA Piper announced today that Jeff Legault has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in New York.

Legault focuses on mergers and acquisitions, both public and private, with a particular emphasis on private equity transactions across a range of industries, including life sciences, manufacturing and financial services.

His clients include public and private companies, private equity funds and family offices. He also regularly represents both issuers and investors in early stage venture capital transactions. His experience includes domestic and cross-border transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He has also been involved with proxy fights and other corporate governance issues, including representing clients before the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Legault joins DLA Piper from Mayer Brown, where he was a partner. He received his J.D. from the University of Toronto and his B.A. from Queen’s University.
