Venture Investment Associates (VIA) today announced that Chris Douvos has joined the investment team as a Managing Director. Mr. Douvos joins VIA most recently from The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF) where he spent seven years co-managing over $1.75 billion in private equity investments. Prior to TIFF, Mr. Douvos worked on the private equity team at Princeton University’s endowment.
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to join VIA,” Mr. Douvos remarked. “I’m delighted to have the chance to work alongside some long-time mentors and friends while having the opportunity to invest in some of the top fund managers with whom I’ve built strong relationships over the last 10 years.”
“We have known Chris for a decade and have long considered his insights and comments to be thoughtful. Furthermore, as a friend, we know he will integrate into our team seamlessly,” said Stathis Andris, VIA’s President and founder, a 40-year veteran of private equity investing.
Jason P. Andris, Managing Director and member of the General Partner, added, “Chris has been at the forefront of thought leadership among limited partners and has cultivated wonderful relationships. Anyone who has met him or read his blog, www.superlp.com, knows he is an articulate spokesman for private equity and entrepreneurship and has a keen eye for identifying opportunities.”
Chris will join Jennifer Ayer, Principal, in establishing VIA’s presence in the Bay Area. The Firm looks to open an office in Palo Alto next year.
Chris Douvos joined Princeton University Investment Company in 2001 after earning an MBA from the Yale School of Management. Prior to business school, he started his career as a management consultant with Monitor Company. He earned a BA with distinction from Yale College in 1994.
