PE-Backed eOne Names New Canadian Leadership

Film and TV producer Entertainment One Ltd. (eOne) has named its new Canadian management team following the takeover of Alliance Films Inc. for C$225 million. David Reckziegel will oversee North American operations, including the combined Canadian group, as President, eOne Films North America. Additionally,  Bryan Gliserman and Noah Segal will oversee eOne Films Canada, including the former Alliance Films teams, as Co-Presidents. EOne is a portfolio company of British private equity firm Marwyn Invesment Management LLP. 


Montréal/Toronto/London – February 11, 2013 – Entertainment One (“eOne” or “the Group”) announces the Group’s Canadian Film leadership team, following its acquisition of Alliance Films announced January 9, 2013.

Patrice Théroux, who leads eOne’s global Film business, today confirms that David Reckziegel, will continue to oversee all North American Film operations, including the combined Canadian group, as President, eOne Films North America.

The Company also announces that Bryan Gliserman and Noah Segal will oversee eOne Films Canada, including the former Alliance Films teams, as Co-Presidents.

Additionally, Patrick Roy will oversee operations in Quebec as President, Les Films Seville. He will also serve as Co-President of Les Films Christal, alongside Christian Larouche.

Gliserman, Segal and Roy will report to Reckziegel.

David Reckziegel, President, eOne Films North America

David Reckziegel co-founded Seville Entertainment with partner John Hamilton in 1999, and via its subsidiary Les Films Seville, built it into Canada’s premiere distributor of quality cinema from around the world.

In 2007, Seville was acquired by Entertainment One and Reckziegel assumed the dual roles of President of Les Films Séville and Co-President of Entertainment One Films Canada. In 2009, he also became Co-President of eOne subsidiary Les Films Christal. Until 2011, he also managed the growth of Entertainment One’s international division.

Reckziegel played a leading role in turning eOne Films Canada into one of the country’s largest distributors of feature films and television programs. In 2011, he was promoted to President, eOne Films North America, and is now also leading the successful expansion of eOne’s US theatrical operations and supporting eOne’s expansion in the US.

Bryan Gliserman, Co-President, eOne Films Canada

In May 2008, Bryan Gliserman joined Entertainment One Films Canada as Co–President.

Prior to joining eOne, he served as President of Odeon Films, a division of Alliance Films where he oversaw acquisitions, marketing and distribution sales.

Gliserman’s background in feature film distribution, marketing and acquisitions includes positions at Maximum Films, Orion Pictures Canada, Telefilm Canada, Columbia Pictures of Canada, Astral Films Limited and MGM/UA Entertainment.

Noah Segal, Co-President, eOne Films Canada

Noah Segal brings over 15 years of experience in the international content distribution business to his new role at eOne. In his time serving as Executive Vice President at Alliance Films, Segal played an instrumental role building the Canadian business, with a special focus on the home entertainment division where he expanded his role to include oversight of all television sales and the burgeoning online distribution operation. Segal was actively involved in content acquisition for the Canadian division of the company and its vibrant theatrical business.

Segal’s past experience also includes Executive Vice President, Worldwide Marketing at Lions Gate Films and various roles, including VP and General Manager, English Canada at Malofilm Distribution.

Patrick Roy, President, Les Films Seville & Co-President, Les Films Christal

Patrick Roy has over 20 years of experience in film distribution. Beginning his career at Alliance Films in 1994, Roy subsequently climbed the ranks to ultimately become President and CEO of Alliance Vivafilm, the company’s robust Quebec film operation.

A staunch supporter of Quebec culture and talent, Roy has played a key role in the distribution of more than 100 Quebec films. These include more than 30 films by first-time directors and the biggest box-office successes in the history of Quebec cinema.
