Egencia Buys VIA Travel

Egencia, part of publicly traded Expedia Inc., has agreed to buy Nordic travel management company VIA Travel, the company announced Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not released. Formed in 1997, VIA Travel provides corporate travel services. VIA Travel has been owned by the Nordic private equity investment company FSN Capital since 2005.


Egencia, an Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) company, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire VIA Travel, the largest travel management company in the Nordics. The combined company will offer industry-leading corporate travel management solutions across the globe.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The closing of the transaction is subject to approval from relevant competition authorities.
