Eliasek Leaves RBC Capital Markets for BofA Merrill Lynch

Ron Eliasek is jumping to BofA Merrill Lynch from RBC Capital Markets.

Eliasek will be co-head of software investment banking at BofA Merrill Lynch. He will join in October and be based in New York, an email from BofA Merrill Lynch says.

In June 2010, Eliasek joined RBC where he was co-head of U.S. technology. He recently led the deal team at RBC when it advised Insight Venture Partners in its failed bid for Quest Software. In March, Insight had initially offered $2 billion to acquire Quest. However, Dell swooped in and bought Quest for $2.4 billion in July.

Also joining BofA Merrill Lynch is Paul Harvey, who was named head of technology investment banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa, the email says. Harvey was previously a GP at Atlantic Bridge, a tech PE fund he co-founded in 2004.

Harvey will start in September and be based in London, BofA Merrill Lynch said.

An RBC Capital spokeswoman confirmed Eliasek’s departure.
