Elliott Davis has expanded the firm’s Banking and Financial Services practice by adding three new shareholders as well as additional managers and staff in tax, consulting, and IT risk management. These additions deepen and diversify the firm’s talent to further enhance services it provides to banks, which are facing increasing financial complexities and new regulatory challenges in this evolving industry.
William Bossong, George Noonan, and Beverly Seier were recently admitted as Elliott Davis shareholders. “All have extensive financial services experience and a strong commitment to the success of our clients,” states Jason Caskey, financial services practice leader for the firm.
Bossong, located in the firm’s Columbia, S.C. office, leads the firm’s financial services consulting practice, where he is heavily focused on merger and acquisition matters for some of the most acquisitive banks in the Southeast. In the last two years, Elliott Davis’s banking consulting team has doubled in size to respond to the industry convergence and resulting high demand for advisory services related to the pre- and post-acquisition of loan portfolios.
The firm also recently added two tax shareholders, Seier and Noonan, located respectively in the firm’s Columbia and Charlotte, N.C. offices. Seier has more than 20 years of experience advising banks and insurance companies on complex tax matters. Noonan has worked extensively in banking and related industries, providing clients with tax planning and compliance services.
Also this year, Elliott Davis added members to the Information Technology Risk Management and Business Development teams, which service banks. Richard Cook, Ken Swayze, and Clement Davis advise banks on IT assurance, compliance and security issues. Rose Washofsky works with current and potential banking clients to develop relationships and enhance customer service. Caskey shares, “We proactively engage to help banks deal with emerging issues as this industry transforms. The talent we’ve added strengthens and expands our multi-disciplined team to manage risk and serve the increasing needs of our banking clients.”
Cook brings over 10 years of IT risk management experience, providing IT related assurance, consulting, advisory and security services. Swayze’s background includes performing information security assessments, IT audits and vulnerability assessments. Both Cook and Swayze are based in the firm’s Charlotte office. Davis, located in the firm’s Greenville, S.C. office, brings expertise in information security, disaster recovery, risk management, compliance and governance.
Rose Washofsky was added as business development director to enhance and develop long lasting client relationships. She listens intently to gain insight into an institution’s history, processes and practices, issues and problems. She then works closely with Elliott Davis’ Financial Institutions team to propose and develop suitable solutions. Washofsky is based in the firm’s Raleigh office and brings over 25 years of banking industry knowledge.
Elliott Davis represents more than 100 financial institutions across the Southeast region. “The company has grown by focusing on industry specialization. Every industry has its complexities, rules and regulations,” Caskey explains. “Working with advisors who can leverage their experience and who understand your industry, operations and strategy allows our financial services clients to capitalize on opportunities, overcome challenges and reduce risk. All of our new members are valuable additions to our growing practice.”
