Emerald Hill Raises $300 Million for Asia Fund-of-Funds

Emerald Hill Capital Partners of Hong Kong has closed its second Asian fund-of-funds with $300 million in capital commitments.

Emerald Hill Capital Partners, an Asian private equity fund-of-funds based in Hong Kong, is pleased to announce the final closing of its second fund. Despite the challenging fundraising environment, Emerald Hill Capital Partners II, L.P. achieved its $300 million target — with strong backing from endowments, foundations, pensions, insurance companies, and family offices in the U.S. and Europe. The firm now
has in excess of $500 million of assets under management.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of our fundraise and extremely grateful to our investors for their continued support of Emerald Hill”, said Eugene Choung, one of the firm’s partners.

Endowments and foundations continue to make up a large part of the firm’s investor base, representing 70% of committed capital — a reflection of the team’s unique heritage and disciplined approach to private equity investing.
Emerald Hill is also delighted to announce the firm’s 5-year anniversary, which it will celebrate on August 2, 2010. The Partners of Emerald Hill would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Funds’ investors, fund managers, and service providers, as well as the broader private equity community, for the tremendous support and friendship they have shown over the past five years. The team looks forward with much anticipation to the significant opportunities that lie ahead in Asian private equity, as well as the chance to
further broaden and deepen its relationships across the investor community.
