Enlightenment Capital recruits Olsen for advisory board

Enlightenment Capital has added Matt Olsen to its advisory board. Olsen is the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Prior to that appointment, Olsen served as general counsel for the National Security Agency.

Chevy Chase, MD – May 18, 2015: Enlightenment Capital, an aerospace, defense, and government focused investment firm based in the Washington, DC area, announced that Matt Olsen has joined the firm’s advisory board. Matt brings over 20 years of national security, intelligence, and law enforcement expertise to Enlightenment’s esteemed group of advisors.

Matt was appointed by President Obama to serve as the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) in 2011. In this role, Matt led the government’s efforts to integrate and analyze terrorism information and coordinate counterterrorism activities until he left government in 2014.

Prior to joining NCTC, Matt was the General Counsel for the National Security Agency (NSA). He also served at the Department of Justice in a number of leadership positions, where he was responsible for national security and criminal cases. For over a decade, Matt served as a federal prosecutor. Matt was also Special Counsel to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Matt is a President and co-founder of IronNet Cybersecurity, a technology firm based in Washington, DC, which he co-founded with GEN Keith Alexander (Ret.), former Director of the NSA and Commander of U.S. Cyber Command, which offers a breakthrough approach to cybersecurity through advanced technology, cutting edge engineering, and expert analysis.

In addition to his work with IronNet Cybersecurity, Matt is a lecturer at Harvard Law School, and a national security analyst for ABC News.
