Equistone expands Partnership and makes further promotions and new appointment to investment team
London, 21 January 2019 – Equistone Partners Europe (“Equistone”), one of Europe’s leading mid-market private equity investors, today announces the promotion of Andi Tomkinson to the position of Partner in its Manchester office, the appointment of Philipp Gauß as Associate in Munich, and six further promotions across its offices in France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. These developments will bolster Equistone’s investment team and serve to reflect the firm’s strong performance and commitment to supporting the internal progression of its team.
Since joining Equistone as Investment Director in 2012, Andi Tomkinson has played an integral role in the firm’s investment activities and portfolio development out of its Manchester office. This has included supporting the formation and development of Concept Life Sciences, the provider of integrated drug discovery, development and analytical testing and environmental consulting services that Equistone sold to Spectris PLC in 2018, and the successful exits of AFI-Uplift, a provider of powered access machines to the construction and infrastructure maintenance sectors, in 2013 and PD&MS, a provider of project management, design, fabrication and testing services to the energy industry, in 2014. As Partner, Andi will conduct investments and portfolio company management in the North of England and remain a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Equistone portfolio companies, including precision-engineered polymer designer and manufacturer Nylacast, mobile telecoms services provider WHP Telecoms and static holiday homes manufacturer Willerby.
Equistone has made six further promotions within its investment team across the firm’s European offices. These include the promotions of Richard Briault and Tristan Manuel in London and Florent Rostaing in Paris to the position of Investment Director, as well as of Tanja Berg and Moritz Treude in Munich and Roman E. Hegglin in Zurich to the role of Investment Manager.
The firm has also appointed Philipp Gauß as a new Associate to its investment team in Germany. Philipp joins Equistone from management consulting firm Stern Stewart & Co., where he worked for over six years as a Project Manager. He holds a BSc in General Management from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel and an MSc in Finance, Management and Entrepreneurship the University of Mannheim.
