eTix, a Morrisville, N.C.-based provider of on-demand ticketing software, has raised $1 million from Southern Capitol Ventures.
eTix, the pioneer in on-demand ticketing software, today announced it has received an investment of $1 million from Southern Capitol Ventures.
Founded in 1999, eTix managed the sale of more than 30 million tickets for 2,000 venues worldwide during 2007. The flexibility and scalability of the eTix platform allows the company to efficiently serve a variety of venue types including theaters, arenas, sporting venues, movie theaters, fairs and festivals, travel and tours, ski resorts, and other specialized venues.
“Having Southern Capitol Ventures actively involved with eTix is an
important next step as we continue to rapidly grow our business,” said Travis Janovich, chief executive officer of eTix. “Well before their investment, Southern Capitol Ventures became a valued partner; their energy and deep network will definitely help fuel our expansion.”
“eTix has become a tremendous global success story,” said Jason Caplain, general partner and co-founder of Southern Capitol Ventures. “We have great confidence in the team and business model.”
Southern Capitol Ventures is the sole institutional investor in the company. This is the firm's third Software-as-a-Service investment.
“The eTix platform is the backbone of our e-commerce,” said Heinrich Wilking with Cinestar, an eTix customer. “With more than 120 theatres throughout Germany, Cinestar requires a robust system that is both scalable and provides for ease of management across multiple properties. We found all these things in eTix, as well as an incredibly supportive and creative partner.”
The eTix platform includes the following:
eTix Online TicketingT – This allows customers to quickly and easily start selling event tickets online using the eTix system with full integration into the eTix Box Office or as a free standing online sales tool. It is an extremely scalable and robust platform. eTix provides a branded link, which matches the look and feel of the customer's Web site. Customers place the link on their Web site allowing them to start selling tickets immediately.
After a ticket has been purchased online, the ticket appears on the
purchaser's browser (no additional software downloads are required). The purchaser is given instructions and is prompted to print the ticket(s).
Simultaneously, the purchaser receives an e-mail from eTix, which provides a receipt for the transaction as well as detailed instructions for printing a ticket at a later time and transferring tickets as gifts to other individuals.
eTix Box OfficeT – This is eTix's full service offering for the venues and brings all ticketing into one easy to use interface. The customer controls ticket prices, seating configurations (for reserved seating), price codes and user administration. Performances can be easily created, onsale times pre-programmed, seats added and inventory moved.
The reporting suite gives customers analysis into every ticket sold. The solution includes leading edge tools for SMS ticket sales and distrubution, e-mail campaign and list management, and a full-featured ticket auction platform. The eTix Box Office has been used to sell tickets to events ranging from a small walking tour to a 200,000 reserved seat Formula One racetrack, so it can be customized and scaled to meet any customer's needs.
