Investment firm Evanston Capital Management has named Dr. Peter Hecht vice president, senior investment strategist. The appointment became effective September 3, 2013. Previously, Hecht worked as a a senior investment strategist at Allstate Investments.

EVANSTON, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Evanston Capital Management, LLC (“ECM”), an institutional hedge fund of funds manager, is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Hecht, Ph.D., as Vice President, Senior Investment Strategist, effective September 3, 2013. In this newly created role, Hecht will lead ECM’s efforts to produce topical investment research and will work collaboratively with ECM’s investors and their advisers to provide insight about how they can structure their portfolios to best meet their goals and objectives.

Prior to joining ECM, Hecht was a Senior Investment Strategist at Allstate Investments (“Allstate”) for the past eight years. At Allstate, he focused primarily on portfolio strategy and the management of Allstate’s Property & Casualty and Pension portfolios, which included both alternative and traditional investments. Prior to joining Allstate, Hecht was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Harvard Business School for five years. He earned his Ph.D. and MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago, and his B.A. in Economics and Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College.
