Evercore Adds Senior MD to Mexican Biz

Alejandro Reynoso del Valle has joined the Mexican operating unit of Evercore Partners as a senior managing director. He previously was a managing director and CIO for Latin America at Barclays Global Investors.

Evercore Partners Inc. (NYSE: EVR) announced today that Alejandro Reynoso del Valle is joining its operating business in Mexico, Protego, as a Senior Managing Director. Dr. Reynoso, based in Mexico City, will focus on senior relationships and client development across Protego’s investment banking, capital markets advisory and investment management businesses.

Alejandro Reynoso is a highly regarded and experienced advisor to large corporations and government institutions across Mexico, having been most recently a Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Latin America at Barclays Global Investors and prior to that the Managing Director for Market Development at the Mexican Stock Exchange.

Dr. Reynoso, 49, holds a Doctorate Degree in International Economy and Economic Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholar from 1985-1989, as well as a Master on Economy from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and a Bachelor of Science in Economy from the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico. In addition to numerous research publications, he has also served as a Part-Time Professor of Economics at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico. He has twice been awarded (1990 and 2005) the Banamex National Price in Economics for outstanding research.

Dr. Reynoso led the corporate reorganization and IPO of the Mexican Stock Exchange, which was recognized as the 2008 Equity Deal of the Year by the International Finance Law Review.
