David Posner, who recently left First Reserve, has joined a hedge fund.
Posner is global head of investor relations and business development at Farallon Capital Management LLC, a spokesman confirmed. He joined at the end of June and is based in San Francisco, the spokesman said.
Found in 1986, Farallon is an asset manager that seeks “superior risk-adjusted returns” by focusing on five core strategies: credit investments, long/short equity, merger arbitrage, real estate and direct investments, the firm’s website said.
Posner left First Reserve, where he was an MD, last month. He was responsible for First Reserve’s international fundraising activities and investor relations. Prior to First Reserve, Posner was an MD with Davidson Kempner Capital Management LLC. Before that, he was CEO and CIO of Calder Capital Partners LLC.
Posner couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
