John Pollock and Mike Miller have joined mid-market I-bank Fidus Partners as managing directors. Pollock previously was a managing director and head of the healthcare practice with Edgeview Partners. Miller was a managing director and head of business development for Allied Capital, and will run business development for Fidus.

Fidus Partners is pleased to announce that John Pollock and Mike Miller have joined the firm as Managing Directors. Mr. Pollock joins Fidus with 18 years of M&A experience and will focus primarily on the health care, franchising, and consumer sectors at Fidus. Mr. Miller will lead the business development effort at Fidus, including coverage of financial sponsors and middle market companies for the firm’s M&A advisory business and the junior capital investment activities of Fidus Capital. In addition, Dillon Bowles recently joined the firm as a Director, focusing on the government and IT services, defense, and aerospace sectors. With these senior-level additions, health care, franchising, and government services are new areas of emphasis at Fidus, expanding the firm’s current industry focus areas of building products, consumer & retail, industrial, defense and aerospace, food, and business services.
John Pollock, who joins Fidus as a Managing Director, is a veteran of more than 70 investment banking advisory assignments, with significant experience in health care, franchising, building products, business services, and industrial sectors. Prior to joining Fidus Partners, Mr. Pollock was a managing director and head of the health care practice with Edgeview Partners. Previously, he was a managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group at Wachovia Securities and its predecessor, Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co. Mr. Pollock earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Hampden-Sydney College and a master of business administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Mike Miller joins Fidus as Managing Director of Business Development. Prior to joining Fidus, Mr. Miller was managing director and head of business development for Allied Capital Corporation where he worked for five years until the company was sold. While at Allied, he was responsible for managing the origination activities for the firm including coverage of financial sponsors, intermediaries and entrepreneurs of middle market companies. Prior to joining Allied Capital, Mr. Miller spent more than 16 years with JPMorgan Chase and its predecessors where he worked in their middle market leveraged finance, asset based and corporate lending groups. Mr. Miller earned his bachelor of science in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and his master of business administration from The Stern School at New York University.
Dillon Bowles recently joined Fidus after spending eight years advising clients on mergers and acquisitions at Wachovia Securities. Mr. Bowles has completed over 25 assignments across a broad range of industries with a particular focus on the government services, defense, business services, software, and industrial industries. Previously, he worked as an equity research analyst with North Carolina Trust Company and Interstate/Johnson Lane. Mr. Bowles received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Virginia and a master of business administration degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Mr. Bowles is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
