Caitlyn MacDonald, director of marketing and communications at First Reserve, has left the firm, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.
First Reserve declined to comment.
It’s not clear when MacDonald left. One source said she departed in the past few months. A person who answered the phone at First Reserve’s Greenwich office said MacDonald no longer works at the firm.
MacDonald’s name still appears on First Reserve’s website. She joined the firm in 2007 and has been involved in marketing, public relations and investor relations activities, according to the website.
Prior to First Reserve, MacDonald was an investment manager at SVG Advisers. Before that, she worked at Wellington Management Co in the mutual fund client service and performance measurement groups, the website said.
First Reserve, which closed its 13th flagship fund on $3.4 billion last year, underwent some shifts in management earlier this year.
President Alex Krueger was promoted to co-chief executive officer, sharing the role with CEO William Macaulay, who also serves as chairman. Krueger retained the title of co-head of buyouts, which he shares with Managing Director Timothy Day.
Krueger’s promotion was characterized as the next step in a succession plan.
The departure of MacDonald follows the exit of London-based Managing Director Alex Williams, which Buyouts reported in February.
