Fondo Italiano d’Investimento and Siparex have launched Siparex Investimenti 2. The new fund is an investment vehicle dedicated to Italian SMEs and mid-sized companies.
Launched on July 8th, 2014 on the initiative of Fondo Italiano d’Investimento – an organization related to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Italian Banking Association and several Italian Banks – in partnership with Siparex, Siparex Investimenti 2 is dedicated to support the growth of Italian SMEs and mid-sized companies with an investment capacity currently amounting to €M 50.
The operational management is entrusted to an Italian team based in Milan with which Siparex Group has jointly worked in Italy since 2008 to monitor the first Siparex Italia fund.
With this new partnership, Siparex, active in Italy for over 10 years, confirms its interest in investing in Italian growth SMEs and strengthen its European presence.
Bertrand Robert, managing partner at Siparex, says: “We are delighted to have finalized this project that ensures a sustainable reinforcement of Siparex’s presence on an Italian market that is characterized by an extremely rich industrial environment and attractive development prospects. This company jointly set up with Fondo Italiano, a key financial player in the Italian economy, is a sign of strong trust in Siparex as well as in the team and the organization set up to manage this vehicle. We currently work on similar projects in other countries and this one is fairly representative of what Siparex’s further development outside France could be.”
Under Bertrand Robert’s responsibility, the project relies on a team with a solid experience in the Italian private equity sector, composed of:
– Tomaso Barbini, previously Managing Director of Rothschild Italia,
– Andrea Gianola, former Partner of Investitori Associati,
– Alessandro Bellia, already Managing Director of Siparex Italia.
