Independent corporate finance house Close Brothers has appointed appointed François Wohrer as a new managing director in its Paris office. He will specialise on expanding the firm’s existing advisory expertise in, and sector coverage of advanced manufacturing and amongst water and waste companies.
Wohrer was formerly at UBS in France where he was a managing director in France after initially working in the investment bank’s London office.
While at UBS he advised on a number of landmark transactions in France and Belgium, including Arcelor’s acquisition of Dofasco; Arcelor’s defence against Mittal Steel; the spin-off/IPO of Suez Environnement in Paris; and the Nyrstar IPO in Brussels. Recently, he advised Lafarge on the disposal of its Italian business and Eramet on the acquisition of Tinfos AS in Norway.
