Freire steps down as ILPA CEO

Peter Freire has stepped down as CEO of trade organization Institutional Limited Partners Association, according to a June 12 letter to members. Tanya Carmichael, ILPA chair, said in the letter that Jennifer Choi, managing director, industry affairs, would assume day-to-day management responsibility of ILPA until an interim CEO is named. Freire, a long-time veteran of CEB, joined ILPA in 2015, when he replaced Kathy Jeramaz-Larson as head of the industry group.


Dear Members:

On behalf of the ILPA Board of Directors, I share with you today that Peter Freire has stepped down as CEO of the organization.  Since joining the ILPA in 2015, Peter has worked diligently on behalf of our membership and led the Association through a period of significant transition and global growth. Under his leadership, our organization became stronger, our engagement deeper, and our impact greater. Limited partners have been, and will continue to be, served with an unwavering focus on delivering value to our community. We thank Peter for his contributions and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.


In the immediate term, Jennifer Choi, Managing Director, Industry Affairs will assume day-to-day management responsibility of ILPA, until an interim CEO is named. The Board has the utmost confidence in our leadership team and staff and knows that their fine work will continue as we move into this next chapter of ILPA.


Our members are our priority and we are committed to communicating with you. We will be certain to inform you of our search process and developments on a timely basis. There continues to be abundant opportunity for ILPA to engage, empower and connect limited partners on a global basis.  We thank you for your support and we look forward to the future of our Association.
