Financial Technology Partners, a fintech-focused investment bank, has named Vijay Sondhi as a managing director. Sondhi is a former Visa senior executive.
SAN FRANCISCO, October 11, 2017– Financial Technology Partners (“FT Partners”), the only investment bank focused exclusively on FinTech, announced today that former Visa senior executive, Vijay Sondhi, has joined the Firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Sondhi, based out of San Francisco, brings 25+ years of deep industry experience as a senior executive, operator and investor across several key and emerging areas of the FinTech landscape. As a senior executive of Visa, Vijay was most recently responsible for launching and operating Visa’s flagship One-Market Innovation Center. In this role, he partnered closely with major financial institutions, global merchants, payment processors, point-of-sale / software firms and high-growth FinTech companies globally. Mr. Sondhi also served as Visa’s Head of Corporate Strategy and Senior Vice President / GM atop Visa’s Cybersource and Authorize.net businesses. Prior to joining Visa, he served as CFO to three private equity and venture-backed companies that spanned a wide variety of FinTech solutions including ERP accounting, point-of-sale systems, hospitality reservations / billing and financial document management. His experiences as CFO include raising private capital, executing M&A transactions and an Initial Public Offering. His executive career includes C-level, Managing Director and Senior Executive positions at Allianz, Booz Allen & Hamilton, IXOS (now OpenText), Micros-Fidelio (now Oracle) and SAP in addition to his most recent roles at Visa.
The addition of Vijay represents FT Partners’ third key senior hire in the past month and further highlights the Firm’s commitment to building out the most experienced and deepest team of FinTech investment bankers / industry experts globally.
