Canadian private equity firm Fulcrum Capital Partners has made an equity investment in Skyservice Investment Ltd., a Toronto-based operator and provider of business aviation services to corporate and private clients. The Fulcrum investment, totaling C$22 million, will facilitate a management buyout, to which company management and shareholders also contributed equity. Skyservice is the fifth investment from Fulcrum’s Private Equity Fund IV, which closed at $193 million in 2012.

Founded in 1986, Skyservice Investments Limited (“Skyservice”) is Canada’s largest operator and provider of business aviation services. With locations at the Toronto, Montreal and Calgary airports, the Company provides Fixed Base Operations and Managed Aircraft services to corporate and private clients. Skyservice is headquartered in Toronto and employs over 500 people.
The transaction was completed with $22 million of equity from Fulcrum plus equity from existing management and shareholders. Skyservice is the fifth investment in Fulcrum’s Private Equity Fund IV.
Fulcrum Capital Partners manages over C$750 million of capital with a mandate to provide private equity as well as mezzanine and bridge debt to mid-sized businesses. These investments typically support management buyouts, acquisitions, going private transactions, leveraged buyouts, corporate growth, financial restructurings, and project and property financings.
