GE Capital to acquire Irish helicopter firm for $1.775 bln

GE Capital’s aviation financing unit has agreed to buy Milestone Aviation Group, a Dublin-based helicopter leasing company, for $1.775 billion. The sellers were The Jordan Company and Nautic Partners. 

Mayer Brown represented Milestone Aviation Group on this deal.

As a result of this transaction, Richard T. Santulli, chairman and CEO of Milestone Aviation Group. will continue to serve as chairman of the helicopter leasing business and become an officer of GE. Milestone president Daniel Rosenthal will serve as president of the business, which will continue to operate under the name Milestone Aviation Group.

GE’s acquisition of Milestone is expected to close in 2015.
