GE Restructures Organization

BOSTON (Reuters) – General Electric Co (GE.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) announced a restructuring of its organization on Friday making its energy-related units into their own branch of the second-largest U.S. company by market capitalization.

The new structure of four units, down from six, is: GE Technology Infrastructure, which will now include GE Health Care, as well as its aviation and transportation businesses; GE Energy Infrastructure; GE Capital, encompassing both commercial and consumer finance, and NBC Universal.

John Krenicki, the head of GE's energy unit, has been named a vice chairman of the company, GE said.
