General Atlantic taps Zbar as managing director and to head life sciences

General Atlantic has named Dr. Brett Zbar as a managing director and global head of life sciences.

Zbar joins General Atlantic from Foresite Capital where he served as managing director. While at Foresite, he advised on the boards of various portfolio companies, which include ConnectiveRx, Kinnate Biopharma, ORIC Pharmaceuticals, Peloton Therapeutics, Pharvaris, Replimune, Signant Health and Turning Point Therapeutics. Prior to Foresite, Zbar was a partner at Aisling Capital.

Zbar has a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and an undergraduate degree from Yale University.

Founded in 1980, General Atlantic currently has $40 billion in assets under management, according to the firm.
