General Catalyst closes eighth venture fund at $845 mln

General Catalyst has raised $845 million for its eighth venture fund, according to a blog post on its site. With offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, New York City and Palo Alto, California, the venture firm is focused on early-stage and growth investments. Among the companies it has backed are Snapchat, Warby Parker and Airbnb.
