The TCW Group said Monday that Frank Gioia joined the firm’s Compliance department as SVP and Head of Investment Control. Gioia was previously the Compliance Product Manager for Charles River Development. Dipo Ashiru has also joined TCW as a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Ashiru was previously with KKR, where he served as an adviser and senior counsel.

LOS ANGELES & NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The TCW Group, a global asset management firm, announced today that it has made two senior-level hires which further strengthen the firm’s legal and compliance areas.
Frank Gioia has joined TCW’s Compliance department as a Senior Vice President and Head of Investment Control. He will lead the firm’s guideline monitoring efforts and work closely with operations, information technology, the trading desks and client services. He is based in TCW’s Los Angeles headquarters and reports to Jeff Engelsman, Global Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to TCW, Gioia was the Compliance Product Manager for Charles River Development, a premier provider of automated systems for front- and middle-office investment management functions.
Dipo Ashiru has joined TCW as a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. He brings significant alternatives experience to TCW, and will also be responsible for a wide range of legal matters. He is based in New York City and reports to Meredith Jackson, TCW’s General Counsel. He joins TCW from KKR, where he served as an adviser and senior counsel to the firm’s diversified private equity, credit and hedge funds platform.
