GMT Appoints Jonny Maxwell as Senior Advisor

GMT Communications Partners has appointed Jonny Maxwell as senior advisor. Formerly global head of private equity fund-of-funds at Allianz Private Equity Partners, Maxwell had overall responsibility for indirect private equity activities.

GMT Communications Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonny Maxwell as Senior Advisor. Jonny brings a wealth of General and Limited Partners’ perspective spanning almost 30 years, having managed and raised many successful funds during this time.

Formerly Global Head of Private Equity Fund of Funds at Allianz Private Equity Partners, Jonny had overall responsibility for indirect private equity activities. Allianz, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, then managed in excess of Euro 6.4 billion of private equity fund assets.

Prior to joining Allianz in 2007, Jonny was founder and Chief Executive at Standard Life Investments (Private Equity) in Edinburgh, Scotland, now known as SL Capital Partners. During his 17 years at Standard Life he built the private equity business and assets from a small single client operation into an international multi-client manager with private equity assets over Euro 5.5 billion. Jonny has served on the Advisory Boards and Investment Committees of a number of private equity funds.

Jonny has also recently joined the Advisory Board of Argentex, a foreign exchange specialist providing bespoke advisory and execution services to corporates, institutions, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations, where he will work closely with the Advisory Board Chairman, Lord Digby Jones.
