Greenberg Traurig Partners Up

Barbara Jones, Stephen Adams and Robert Puopola have joined the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig LLP as shareholders in the law firm’s corporate and securities practice. Jones previously was co-chair of capital markets with McDermott Will & Emery, while Adams and Puopola were with Goodwin Procter.

The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has announced the expansion of its Corporate and Securities Practice in the Boston office. Joining the firm as shareholders are Barbara A. Jones, Stephen T. Adams and Robert E. Puopolo. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Jones was a partner at the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery, where she was firm-wide co-chair of the Capital Markets Group. Adams and Puopolo were partners at Goodwin Procter.

Jones has a domestic and international corporate finance practice, including private equity/venture capital, public and private securities, and mergers and acquisitions, across industry groups. In addition, she represents issuers, underwriters, investors and placement agents, as well as non-U.S. companies accessing the U.S. capital markets. She previously practiced in London for 13 years, where she headed the international capital markets practice for a major international law firm.

Puopolo represents a wide range of clients, including public and private companies in the life sciences, clean technology and technology sectors, as well as underwriters, placement agents, venture capital and private equity firms, and investment banks focused on those industries. He regularly represents public companies on general corporate matters, SEC compliance, corporate governance matters, and public offerings of equity and debt, as well as 144A offerings and PIPE transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.

Adams represents investment managers and corporations in all aspects of their corporate finance transactions, including public and private offerings, acquisitions, recapitalizations and other strategic transactions. He also represents underwriters, placement agents and investors.

Jones chairs the American Bar Association’s Subcommittee on International Securities Matters. She has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions and by The Legal 500 for her work in private equity. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law and her B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University. She is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts.

Puopolo received his J.D., cum laude, in 1998 from Suffolk University School of Law and his B.S. in 1993 from Northeastern University. He is a member of MassMEDIC. Previously, Puopolo was a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.

Adams received his J.D. in 1996 from the University of Virginia School of Law; an M.S. in 1993 from the University of North Dakota; and a B.S. from the University of Connecticut in 1987. He served on active duty as an officer in the United States Air Force from 1987 to 1993.
