While Bill Hambrecht is trying to launch a new football league, with the financial backing of Google exec Tim Armstrong and Internet billionaire turned basketball team owner Mark Cuban, his prodigy Bob Hambrecht has his eye on cleantech.
The younger Hambrecht has seen his last day at W.R. Hambrecht + Co., the San Francisco-based financial services firm that is known for promoting the OpenIPO.
After nine years, Hambrecht left the firm last Friday. He says that it’s time to move forward and explore new opportunities.
“I have a deep interest in the emerging Cleantech space and have been committed to the sector, and environmental issues generally, for many years. I intend to find a role where I can devote all of my time to that sector and make a major impact there. “
