Hamilton Lane makes EMEA leadership appointments

Hamilton Lane, the private markets asset manager, has named Jim Strang and Richard Hope as chairman and head of EMEA, respectively.

Hamilton Lane, the private markets asset manager, has named Jim Strang and Richard Hope as chairman and head of EMEA, respectively.

Currently, Strang is a managing director who leads EMEA and oversees the firm’s London’s office. Hope, a managing director on the firm’s secondary and co-investment teams, will succeed Strang in both positions. The appointments are effective immediately.

Before joining Hamilton Lane, Strang was a partner at Dunedin LLP and prior to that, served as a founding team member and head of European buyouts at Gartmore Private Equity (now Hermes GPE). Currently, he also serves as a non-executive director at Hg Capital Trust Plc and is a senior adviser to the private equity group at Bain & Co.

Hope joined Hamilton Lane as a member of the Fund Investment Team. In 2016, he was promoted to a managing director focused on secondaries and co-investments. Previously, he worked as a director at Alliance Trust Equity Partners Ltd., an Edinburgh-based private equity firm.
