Hamilton Lane, the private markets asset manager, has named Jim Strang and Richard Hope as chairman and head of EMEA, respectively.
Currently, Strang is a managing director who leads EMEA and oversees the firm’s London’s office. Hope, a managing director on the firm’s secondary and co-investment teams, will succeed Strang in both positions. The appointments are effective immediately.
Before joining Hamilton Lane, Strang was a partner at Dunedin LLP and prior to that, served as a founding team member and head of European buyouts at Gartmore Private Equity (now Hermes GPE). Currently, he also serves as a non-executive director at Hg Capital Trust Plc and is a senior adviser to the private equity group at Bain & Co.
Hope joined Hamilton Lane as a member of the Fund Investment Team. In 2016, he was promoted to a managing director focused on secondaries and co-investments. Previously, he worked as a director at Alliance Trust Equity Partners Ltd., an Edinburgh-based private equity firm.
