Heitman, a real estate investment management firm, has named Caleb Mercer as managing director of its European private equity group. Mercer worked at Starwood Capital where he was senior vice president of European acquisitions.
London, June 26, 2019 – Heitman LLC (“Heitman”), a global real estate investment management firm, today announced that it has appointed Caleb Mercer as Managing Director of its European Private Equity Group to originate, structure, complete, and manage investments throughout Europe. He will report to Tony Smedley, Heitman’s Head of European Private Equity.

Caleb formerly served as a Senior Vice President, European Acquisitions at Starwood Capital, where he sourced investment opportunities across multiple European geographies. In his previous role with Heitman, he was Senior Vice President, Acquisitions. Caleb began his career as an Analyst with Merrill Lynch. He has also held real estate roles with AXA Investment Managers and JER Partners. In total, Caleb has 15 years of real estate investment experience and has transacted across 15 European countries. He has experience across a wide variety of real estate asset classes and in direct, corporate, and credit real estate investments.
Caleb attended the University of Oxford where he received his degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, and is fluent in French.
