Say Cheese, PartnerConnect!

About 1,000 GPs and LPs descended on Boston for PartnerConnect last week.

David Rubenstein, the Carlyle Group’s co-founder and co-CEO, joked about his retirement, while William Ackman, Pershing Square Capital Management’s CEO, gave us insight into his claims regarding Herbalife. Silver Lake Co-Founder Glenn Hutchins wouldn’t talk about Dell, but he did tell an audience of PE and VC executives that, “This is the economic recovery. This is what you’re going to get.” Several GPs talked about the trials of raising capital (“There is no fun in fundraising, one exec says), while some LPs offered tips to make the process easier.
