HgCapital has hired Tom Maddison, former global HR director at Xerox Corp, for the new role of head of portfolio talent. Maddison, who starts in August, will be responsible for supporting management teams to develop talent across HgCapital’s portfolio as well as within the firm itself.
HgCapital is delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Maddison as Head of Portfolio Talent, a new role that has been specifically created within the Firm.
The appointment of an experienced talent specialist aims to continue the substantial work and investment committed by HgCapital to this vital area over recent years. Tom’s role will focus on supporting management teams to develop talent across HgCapital’s investment portfolio – with a secondary focus on talent within HgCapital itself. He will continue to enhance the Firm’s commitment to partnering with management teams to deliver the plans we are backing for the businesses in which we invest.
Tom will join HgCapital in August 2015 from Xerox Corporation where he most recently served as Global HR Director and a member of its Executive Committee. Originally from the UK, Tom has worked in a wide variety of commercial and HR roles for Xerox for the last 20 years. He is an engineer by background and will be relocating from the US back to the UK with his family.
Nic Humphries, Managing Partner at HgCapital, commented:
“Managing and supporting talent is a key focus for HgCapital, especially as this is not traditionally an area on which the broader private equity universe has been focused. Having the best people in place is an incredibly important part of growing high quality global companies and generating attractive returns for our clients and I’m delighted that an experienced specialist such as Tom will be joining us and helping to build on our prior work in this area.”
Richard Donner, Partner at HgCapital, commented:
“Tom has spent many years supporting talent for and within one of the world’s largest companies. We believe his range of experience with many different business services and technology businesses within Xerox, and his depth of insight is going to be invaluable in helping us address management opportunities within our Portfolio.”
