Highland Capital Says Yoon’s Got Seoul

Highland Capital Management, the Dallas-based investment firm, has added Chris Yoon to its Seoul, South Korea office as director of business development. James Dondero, president and co-founder of Highland, called Korea one of the PE firm’s top regions targeted for investment in Asia.


Highland Capital Management Hires Chris Yoon to Lead Newly Opened Seoul Office to Serve Growing Demand from Korean Investors

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 1, 2011 — Highland Capital Management, L.P. (“Highland”), a Dallas-based investment management firm with approximately $23 billion in assets under management, announced today that it has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea to be headed by Chris Yoon who has joined as Director of Business Development, Korea. Highland’s office is located in the Center 1 building in the heart of Seoul’s central business district.
Mr. Yoon will manage Highland’s business operations and investor relations in Korea. He will also be responsible for developing strategic relationships with key securities and asset management companies. Mr. Yoon and the Highland Korea team will report into the firm’s Asia-Pacific Regional office, located in Singapore.

Mr. Yoon has deep and broad experience across investment and portfolio management, alternative investment analysis, corporate finance advisory services, and marketing alternative investment products. Prior to joining Highland, he served as Director, Alternative Investments at Asia Pacific Capital in Seoul. Prior to Asia Pacific Capital, Mr. Yoon worked in Seoul for Macquarie Securities Korea and KPMG Samjong Investment Advisory. He earned an MBA in Finance and Management atColumbia University and a BA in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
