Hired secures $15 mln Series A funding

Hired has secured a $15 million Series A round. The financing was led by Crosslink Capital and Sierra Ventures with additional participation from SoftTech VC and Sherpa Ventures.

Hired, the first two-sided marketplace that connects techies with full-time jobs at over 700+ companies in San Francisco and New York, today announced it has secured a $15 million Series A round led by Crosslink Capital and Sierra Ventures, with additional participation from SoftTech VC and Sherpa Ventures.

“The size of the round, led by insiders, reflects the tremendous traction that Hired has gotten in its short existence,” noted Matt Mickiewicz, the CEO of the company. “We’ve arranged over 1,000 interviews in the last month alone, our NYC office reached profitability within 60 days of it’s pre-launch phase, and we are fielding applications from upwards of 8,000 Software Engineers per month of which just the top 5% are selected. We’ve experienced unprecedented growth in 2014 and will use this capital to expand our service offerings and expand geographically.”

The Hired Marketplace empowers Engineers, Designers, Product Managers and Data Scientists – who are frequently bombarded with upwards of 20+ recruitment emails per week – to conduct a job search on their terms. “Employers are required to disclose compensation details – including salary, signing bonus, and benefits upfront to ensure everyone is on the same page before even interviewing,” notes Doug Feirstein, co-founder of the company. The company also pairs each candidate with a Talent Advocate to represent their best interests and help answer any questions along the way.

The typical candidate on Hired receives 10-15 offers in just 7 days, after which their profile is removed and no longer accessible to employers. They can choose as many, or as few companies to interview with as they like, with Hired offering an additional $2000 signing bonus if they accept a job through the marketplace. Over 200 different companies already have Engineers working for them that they found through Hired, with some businesses hiring over a dozen individuals via the marketplace.
