NEW YORK (Reuters) – Investment bank Houlihan Lokey said on Wednesday veteran dealmaker Robert Hyer joined the firm from Greenhill & Co (GHL.N) to head a new practice focusing on companies in the financial technology industry.
Hyer, a 23-year investment banking veteran, will be joined by Bruce Urbanek, a financial technology specialist formerly with Goldman Sachs (GS.N) and Citigroup (C.N).
Hyer’s deals include advising private equity firm KKR on its $27 billion acquisition of First Data, and Ceridian in its proxy defense and $5.2 billion sale to TH Lee, it said.
Hyer also spent nine years at Citigroup, where he established the bank’s global electronic services group, it said. (Reporting by Paritosh Bansal)
