Justin Abelow has rejoined investment bank Houlihan Lokey from Deutsche Bank. He will resume his role as a Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group and will focus on private equity coverage in the United States and Europe.
Press release: Houlihan Lokey, an international investment bank, today announced that Justin Abelow has rejoined the firm. He will resume his role as a Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group and will focus on private equity coverage in the United States and Europe. Mr. Abelow joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was a managing director in its financial sponsors group and was responsible for providing advice to leading private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance, equity issuance and other aspects of corporate finance. Based in the New York office, he will report to John Mavredakis, Senior Managing Director and head of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group.

Prior to Deutsche Bank and Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Abelow served as an investment banker at firms including J.P. Morgan Securities and The First Boston Corporation and as a corporate attorney at the firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell. Over the course of his career, Mr. Abelow has worked on over 300 closed transactions involving over 40 discrete private equity firms. He has been named one of the top young bankers on Wall Street by periodicals including Investment Dealers’ Digest, Dealmaker, and The New York Times. Mr. Abelow is a magna cum laude graduate of Columbia College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa; and a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
