Eight months after settling with EMI over its investment into Napster, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners has raised $183.5 million toward its sixth fund, according to a regulatory filing.
Limited partners include J.P. Morgan Pooled Venture Capital Institutional Investors III, National Nominees Limited As Nominee for VFMC Infrastructure Fund II and the State Street Bank and Trust Company as Trustee for the Northrop Grumman Pension Master Trust, the filing shows.
The new fund is substantially smaller than the firm’s fifth fund, a $424 million vehicle raised in 2000.
But the firm may not be done with its fund raising. Co-founding Partner Ann Winblad did not respond to multiple requests for comment. A source tells peHUB that Fund VI has a $200 million target, and that it is nearing a final close. It already has three portfolio companies.
