Huntsman Gay Staffs Up

Donald Miller and Ben Thorndike have joined Huntsman Gay Global Capital as an operating partner and head of investor relations, respectively. Miller has spent time with both Gryphon Investors and Industrial Growth Partners, while Thorndike previously was a director or IR with Bain Capital.

Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a leading middle-market private equity firm, today announced the appointments of Donald Miller as Operating Partner and Portfolio Group Head, and Ben Thorndike as Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations.

Miller developed his expertise in private equity portfolio operations during his nine years as an operating partner and advisor with Gryphon Investors and Industrial Growth Partners.  During that time, he was involved with over 20 middle market companies, helping them post strong results against both operating and investment return metrics.  Prior to entering the private equity world, Miller spent 20 years in the technology industry, starting his career with IBM and then holding executive management positions with such companies as IGT, SAP, and Fenetre Technology.

Prior to joining Huntsman Gay, Thorndike was Director, Investor Relations at Bain Capital for approximately five years. Previously, Thorndike held senior leadership roles at Wellington Management Company as Director of Corporate Client Relationships, at State Street Research & Management as Managing Director for Institutional Client Service, and at Scudder Investments where he was a Managing Director responsible for several of the firm’s key global business units.
