PRESS RELEASE

Huron River Ventures Partners, a Michigan-based early stage venture capital firm, today announced the final close of their first fund, Huron River Ventures I at $11 million.
Huron River Ventures (HRV) was launched in 2011 to capitalize on the increasing need for technologies and solutions that enable more efficient use of energy, transportation infrastructure and agricultural resources resulting from a rapidly growing global population whose demand for these resources is beginning to outpace supply.
“After studying and investing in these sectors for nearly two decades, I believe the opportunity is greater than ever for innovative solutions to address these global challenges. Blessed with an abundance of technical talent, supportive infrastructure, and a great work ethic, we see entrepreneurs in Michigan and the Midwest emerging as leaders in developing these solutions,” said Ryan Waddington, Managing Director of the fund.
Meeting a critical need in the innovation ecosystem, HRV provides seed and early-stage capital, strategic support and guidance to entrepreneurs building new companies with disruptive business models that serve multi-billion dollar global industries like agriculture, energy, and transportation. HRV invests in capital-efficient pre-revenue and early-revenue product and software companies, whose solutions offer compelling value propositions to customers.
Tim Streit, also a Managing Director added, “We created a venture fund for one reason: to help entrepreneurs change the world as they bring their ideas to life. By seeing their potential, providing support where needed and rolling up our sleeves when required, we help our teams break through barriers, define new markets and create value for customers.”
HRV invests in technology companies where it has functional or industry expertise and can help entrepreneurs to catalyze growth and reach their maximum growth potential. Current investments include SideCar Technologies, Ambiq Micro, OptoAtmospherics, FarmLogs, Root3 Technologies and Covaron Advanced Materials. HRV has offices in Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
