ILPA taps Deloitte’s Shawna Kaufman to run membership, events

The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) has hired Shawna Kaufman as its new managing director, responsible for membership and events. Kaufman previously led Monitor Deloitte’s customer and marketing strategy practice in Canada. Toronto-based ILPA is a member-driven organization focused on promoting the interests of private equity limited partners.

ILPA Announces New Managing Director of Membership & Events

Management Team Expanded to Support Commitment to Growth and Diversification of ILPA Membership and Event Development

January 26, 2016 (Toronto, CAN and Washington, DC) – The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) today announced the addition of Shawna Kaufman to the management team as the new Managing Director of Membership & Events.

“We are delighted to gain Shawna’s expertise to further expand our membership initiatives and develop our events,” says Peter Freire, ILPA CEO. “Her experience with Monitor Deloitte in helping organizations grow by better meeting the needs of their stakeholders will be invaluable to the ILPA.”

Based in Toronto, Ms. Kaufman brings more than 10 years of experience in strategy consulting across Europe, Africa and North America, most recently as a leader of Monitor Deloitte’s Customer & Marketing Strategy practice in Canada where she helped her clients drive top-line growth by exploring and addressing the needs of their customers, members and employees. Playing a central role in practice development, Ms. Kaufman also worked to expand and enrich the internal community, serving in key recruiting roles and as a counselor and coach to junior consultants.

Ms. Kaufman holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MSc from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA from Queen’s University in Canada. She will be joining the ILPA team effective February 1 and is looking forward to meeting with members.
