Last Friday, I asked every single presidential campaign if their candidate: (A) Would support or oppose the so-called Blackstone Bill introduced on June 14 in the Senate, and (B) Would support or oppose the “carried interest” bill introduced last Friday in the House.
The response has been underwhelming, to be polite.
Only three candidates responded: Mitt Romney (opposed), Jim Gilmore (opposed) and Tom Tancredo (wait and see). Oh, and Barrack Obama’s campaign responded by sending me a fundraising email.
You’d think some more of these folks would stake out a position on the issue — given how much time they spend raising cash on Sand Hill Road and whatever the main drag is in Greenwich. Or maybe that’s excactly why they’re keeping their mouths shut…
