Insight Venture taps veteran LP advisor Smolens for senior advisor role

Insight Venture Partners hired Donna Smolens, a veteran advisor to limited partners, as a senior advisor, the New York City-based private equity and venture firm announced today.

In her new role, Smolens will be working on investor relations with Cian Cotter, the firm’s managing director.

As previously reported on PE HUB, Smolens stepped down June 30 from Portfolio Advisors LLC where she served as a managing director and co-head of the North American research and due diligence team.

While at Portfolio Advisors, Smolens was on the advisory board of 13 private equity and venture capital funds.

Prior to joining Portfolio Advisors, Smolens worked at Technology Crossover Ventures where she was in charge of investor relations. And, before that, she was a senior vice president at DLG Securities’ Private Fund Group.
