PRESS RELEASE

Investec Specialist Bank (“Investec”) today announces the further expansion of its Growth & Acquisition Finance team with the appointment of Joanna Turney. Reporting to Ed Cottrell, Head of the Growth & Acquisition Finance team, in her new role, Joanna will play a key part in originating and executing transactions on behalf of growth businesses and entrepreneurial management teams.

Joanna joins Investec from Royal Bank of Scotland (“RBS”) where she has worked since 2008, most recently as an Associate Director in the Leveraged Finance team. At RBS, Joanna was responsible for the sourcing, structuring and execution management of a number of complex leveraged transactions across the UK market, developing an excellent network of origination relationships, as well as strong technical credit and financial modelling skills. Prior to that, Joanna acted as a Portfolio Manager within RBS’ UK Corporate Bank, where she proactively managed a portfolio of around 40 small to mid-sized clients with the responsibility of establishing and managing those relationships to better understand their requirements and introduce innovative and appropriate financing solutions.

Joanna is the third addition to the Growth & Acquisition Finance team in recent months, following the appointments this year of Grant Davidson and Paul Rablen in June and July respectively, and takes the team to a total of 16 people.

Ed Cottrell of Investec, said: “Joanna’s appointment further demonstrates the momentum that we are building in the Growth & Acquisition Finance team and reflects the strong pipeline of new business opportunities that we are currently seeing from the ambitious management teams of mid-market companies. The addition of Joanna to the team will only help to enhance that pipeline and Joanna’s experience in managing transactions on behalf of clients will also be invaluable.”

Joanna Turney, who starts work with Investec today, said “It is an exciting time to be joining Investec. The Growth & Acquisition Finance team is one that has developed a strong reputation for being able to provide innovative financing structures to its clients across the entire capital structure and I am looking forward to working with the team to enhance this further.”
