Investec strengthens fund finance team

Investec Specialist Bank has appointed Mikael Busch to the Investec fund finance team. In his new role, Busch will focus on lending to the secondary private equity market and high net worth private equity investors and will report to Simon Hamilton, global head of Investec fund finance.

Investec Specialist Bank (“Investec”) today announces the appointment of Mikael Busch to the Investec Fund Finance team. In his new role, Mikael will focus on lending to the secondary private equity market and high net worth private equity investors and will report to Simon Hamilton, Global Head of Investec Fund Finance.

Mikael joins Investec from ICON Investments, an alternative debt provider focusing on mid-market clients, where he was Head of European Business Development. In this role, Mikael led ICON Investments’ European origination efforts and represented the company’s interests and presence in the region.
Prior to ICON Investments, he worked for Altima Partners LLP as part of the core investment team for the newly established Altima Situational Credit Fund, based in London. Earlier in his career, Mikael worked in a variety of leveraged finance and investment roles in London, Zurich and New York.

Mikael’s appointment adds strength and depth to the Fund Finance team, and, as a senior hire, he will have a particular focus on developing the offering to the secondary market.
