PRESS RELEASE
Alvarez & Marsal, a leading independent professional services firm, specializing in performance improvement, turnaround management and business advisory services, announced that Jeff Schlosser, former national partner-in-charge of the Business Due Diligence Group with KPMG LLP, has joined the firm’s Private Equity Services Operations Group as a managing director. He is based in New York.
Mr. Schlosser brings 15 years of operational improvement, corporate advisory and merger and acquisition experience focusing on assisting private equity firms with due diligence and post-acquisition performance improvement. He’s considered one of the pioneers in developing leveraged sourcing programs for private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Over the last three years, he has worked with more than 150 portfolio companies sourcing more than $750 million in goods and services—creating over $1 billion in exit value for these investments.
“Private equity firms continue to look for ways to drive near-term EBITDA and longer-term exit values up while not distracting management teams from their growth plans,” said Nick Alvarez, national practice leader of A&M’s Private Equity Services Operations Group. “Jeff’s extensive experience in successfully managing these potentially opposable forces further enhances A&M’s capabilities and will augment our growing practice.”
Mr. Schlosser has served in numerous leadership roles developing cross-portfolio sourcing platforms for middle and upper middle market private equity funds ranging in size from $500 million to over $5 billion in assets under management and their portfolio companies. As the national partner-in-charge of the Business Due Diligence Group with KPMG LLP, Mr. Schlosser was responsible for the operations of this 65-person sub-practice of KPMG’s Transaction Services. Prior to KPMG, Mr. Schlosser was vice president of expense management and co-CPO for the Willis Group, an ex-KKR portfolio company, and an engagement manager with McKinsey and Company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schlosser held multiple operating roles in the semiconductor and high technology industries.
Mr. Schlosser earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
