Duff & Phelps is on the hunt for a director of restructuring for its Calgary office. Responsibilities include conducting viability assessments and financial/operational business reviews, providing debt restructuring/refinancing advisory services and preparing and/or analyzing cash flow forecasts, business plans, valuations and other financial models. Also, he or she will be involved in special situation transactions, such as exchange offers, debt-for-equity swaps or other negotiations with creditors or interested parties. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of restructuring/bankruptcy experience at a restructuring boutique, Big 4 firm or restructuring investment bank. An MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.

Fremont Private Holdings is looking to hire an associate. Duties include supporting the evaluation of investment opportunities by managing internal and third-party due diligence, performing technical analyses and modeling, and researching industries and markets. Also, he or she will assist with all aspects of new deal execution, prepare materials for potential lenders, review legal documents and create materials for internal investment committee. Candidates should have a minimum of two to three years of work experience in investment banking, management consulting or an equivalent role involving M&A processes. This is a two to three year position, although “exceptional” performers will be eligible for a career track position. The job is in the greater New York City area. Antares Capital is interviewing for an associate for its Chicago team. The hire will monitor and report on assigned portfolio and participate in credit approval issues; perform restructuring of poorly performing loans or leases; assist in the managing of a portfolio of distressed loans; conduct financial modeling to determine operating performance; and assess risk and develop strategies to mitigate ongoing risk. Also, he or she will identify and propose opportunities for refinancing or purchase that result in loan repayment, while recognizing and responding to early warning signs of distress. An MBA is desired with three years of directly related experience, which include financial and projection modeling, exposure to loan structuring, ROI modeling and deal closing and negotiation of loan documents.

Red Oak Growth Partners is recruiting for a pre-MBA senior analyst. The hire will conduct company and industry-specific strategic and financial research, while aiding in the building of financial models and ad hoc analysis to support deal valuation and structuring efforts. Also, he or she will support aspects of the due diligence process in evaluating new portfolio and add-on investments. Applicants should have six to 18 months of relevant experience, preferably in an investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or other applicable setting. The position is based in the greater New York City area.
