Jobs of the week: Carlyle, Citi, AFLG and Ontario Teachers’ are hiring

AFLG Investments Private Equity is looking to add a private equity managing director to its team. The hire will lead new business development and marketing efforts, including maintaining a detailed pipeline of prospects and potential deals through the firm’s CRM system and external sources. Also, he or she will establish and maintain industry business relationships to generate ongoing deal flow and qualify potential private equity opportunities with the input of the investment committee. The job will be based either in the greater New York City or Tampa Bay area. Candidates should have eight to 10 years of origination, structuring and closing of private equity transactions.

The Carlyle Group’s private equity fund of funds AlpInvest Partners is looking to hire a U.S. fund investments associate. Duties include sourcing and reviewing fund investment opportunities and tracking of internal deal flow. The hire will participate fully in the fund due diligence and investment approval process, which includes due diligence requests and GP meeting agendas, proposal writing, internal presentation, legal negotiation and closing. Candidates should be pre-MBA with two to four years of experience in investment, research, consulting or similar fields with experience related to primary fund investing. The job is in New York.

Also, Carlyle is seeking an investments associate for its Metropolitan Real Estate Management unit. The hire will assist in the property level investment underwriting and due diligence process, including collection of asset and market data, analysis of financial models for projected investment performance, structuring of joint venture agreements and preparation of investment committee memos. Also, he or she will contribute to the primary fund investment due diligence process by obtaining and analyzing data on track record, fund structure, underwriting assumptions and market environment for use in investment committee memo preparation. Candidates should have three to five years of relevant institutional quality real estate experience. Direct property investing experience is strongly preferred. The position is in New York. Citi is recruiting for an assistant vice president of private equity funds. The hire will help manage and monitor transaction processing, proper application of accounting principles to complex transactions and financial reporting for the firm’s private equity clients. Applicants should have four to seven plus years of experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investments funds. Private equity experience is a plus. The job is in New York City.

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is interviewing for an investment associate to join its portfolio management team in Toronto. Duties include developing regular and ad hoc portfolio-wide analytics and reporting for Teachers’ Private Capital’s senior vice president and senior team to help facilitate timely and optimal decision-making. Also, he or she will co-manage the semi-annual and year-end valuation process for TPC and provide the senior team with commentary and projections. Applicants should have two to four years of related work experience, ideally in accounting or finance.
